Xubec originates from a very organic idea, aiming to connect the human body with tableware. I wanted to translate the gestures we make when holding objects directly into the design of the tableware. I sought a simple concept that would allow me to experiment and create tableware based on functionality. Additionally, I wanted to somehow bring the project back to where I come from and have it remind me of my roots. That's why I opted for the colors green and off-white, as they remind me of a Mediterranean environment, which is what I wanted to convey.
Furthermore, to define the idea, I focused a lot on what breakfast meant to me and when I enjoyed it the most. I realized that I only truly enjoy breakfast on weekends or when I can focus on preparing a better breakfast. It made me realize that my tableware should reflect shapes beyond mere aesthetics and have a deeper meaning. Xubec is functional, simple, elegant, Mediterranean, organic, human, but above all, Xubec is tableware inspired by gestures.
